Will the Yakima FullBack Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I am looking to confirm that this bike rack will fit a 2012 Toyota Highlander? If so, is it fairly simple for 1 person to install? I have called a few bike stores and they all said that there is no rack for my car and that I will need to have a hitch installed.

The Yakima FullBack # Y02634 is a confirmed fit for your 2012 Toyota Highlander and it is a pretty simple installation that 1 person can accomplish on their own. I have attached a review video that you can reference but please note that you need to use the anchor mode and that if you keep this rack installed for prolonged periods of time there could be some damage to the headliner. If you have any bikes with a step-through frame or that don't have a horizontal top tube, then the adapter bar # Y02531 may be needed to keep your bike level.

I'm not sure why other bike stores would have said that there is no trunk mount rack for your Highlander unless they just didn't carry any that fit. Hitch mount bike racks are easier to install, and they don't make any contact with your vehicle but that doesn't mean there aren't trunk mount fits that are perfectly acceptable options.
