If you are looking for whether or not the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3139 is going to give you the needed clearance to make a tight turn in a short bed truck the answer is probably not. The reason is the offset of this adapter turns with the trailer as it turns so when you need it the most (when at a tight turn) the offset is diminished. If you can get by with limited turning clearance this will work fine though.
Otherwise you'd have to remove your gooseneck hitch and install a fifth wheel rail kit so you can then use a slider hitch. For a slider hitch we have the Reese part # RP30083 which has a 20k capacity, a roller slider (smoother than square), and a single hook jaw that will provide a tight connection. For a rail kit the custom install kits are the way to go like the Reese part # RP50140-58 as it will minimize drilling and install time over a universal kit.
