How To Use the Light-Up Telescoping Hitch Aligner with an Aluminum Ball Mount

Question:

I have two hitches for my truck. One is a Rapid Hitch and the other is a Weigh Safe. Both are aluminum. It sounds like this is magnetic so this will not work. Do you have a recommendation for something that will work?

In order to use the Easy-Hitch Light-Up, Telescoping Hitch Aligner part # JE00600 with either your Weigh Safe Aluminum Ball Mount or Rapid Hitch Aluminum Ball Mount you will need to either place the aligner directly atop the hitch ball or on the receiver tube between the bumper and ball mount (see photo). The aligner however will not be able to be attached to the shank because it has a magnetic base that will not work with aluminum.

If the above will not work for you then your only other option would be to obtain an actual backup camera. I recommend the Hopkins Rear View Camera with Backup Sensors part # HM60195VA which provides both audible and visual alerts.
