How Many Times Should Solera Slide Topper Awning Roll Be Wound for Install

Question:

The tension is so tight it is impeding our slide out from properly extending all the way. The bottom is out all the way, but top is 4” inboard of the bottom. What can we do to back off some of the tension?

Did you have have the awning roller wound too tight when you initially installed it? At the time of installation the awning roller should be wound 12-16 rotations to put sufficient tension on the springs. Sounds like you may have yours wound too tight! You'll want to remove your awning so that you can unwind it and rewind it the correct amount of times.
