Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack For 2019 Ram 1500 With RamBox

Question:

I considering this for a 2019 Ram with RamBoxwill it fit, even if the two outer spots arent available? I only need to carry 4 bikes, and from what Ive read online, the smaller 53inch version doesnt line up correctly on the tailgate. Is this pad doesnt fit, is there another tailgate pad that is confirmed with fit a RamBox configuration?

There are tailgate bike rack pads that are compatible with the 2019 Ram 1500 with RamBox but the Yakima Tailgate Pad Y07411 is not a fit because of the way it attaches.

I recommend the Thule 53" GateMate Pro part # TH823PRO for the 2019 1500 with RamBox. Thule has confirmed their tailgate pad to fit with the RamBox.

I’ve heard mixed reports the Thule 53inch fits with the RamBox option . Can you 100% it fits my vehicle.

The correct Thule Tailgate Pad for your Ram is the part # TH824PRO. This is confirmed to fit your truck that features the RamBox option.

@ChrisR I'm not sure how this will work, its a 60 inch width and the RAM tailgate with the Rambox option is only approx 47 inches. Does this have a smaller option or are there smaller pads?

@DavidF I think Chris meant to use the 53" part # TH823PRO instead of the 60" GateMate. I got the chance to test this out on a Ram 2500 (see attached) and while I can't say that I tested it out on a model that had the RamBox, I can say that the pad itself is pretty flexible and so I think that on the inside it would just kind of fold out against the sides of your box. The only time I can see this being an issue is if you were to open your tailgate with the GateMate on. When you go to shut it again you'd need to move the excess out of the way so it doesn't get trapped between the tailgate and the bed sides. If you're still uneasy about the fitment (understandably so) then we have a handful of other options that can work (see attached) like the Thule Insta-Gater Pro # TH93VR.
