Installing Brake Controller on 2013 Chevy Avalanche with Non-Standard Brake Controller Wire Colors

the tutorial says V. red to black pig tail V. dark blue to blue pig tail V light blue/orange to red pig tail V white to white pig tail the wiring color code on the vehicle is red blue green w white strip yellowis how do I reconcile 2013 Avalanche Black Diamond

The wire colors you mentioned for the factory brake controller harness on your 2013 Chevy Avalanche differ from what I found listed in the online owner's manual, so your best route is going to be to test the wires for function. This will ensure you make the correct connections with your Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195.
You will want to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to determine what signal each of those 4 wires carries.
On the Prodigy P3 the black wire is for 12V input to actually power the brake controller. The blue wire is for brake output back to the 7-Way. The red wire is for brake input - this will be wire that ONLY receives power with the brake pedal depressed and no power with any other function. The white wire is for ground.
