Troubleshooting Installation of LED Trailer Lights with Red, Black, and Yellow Wires

If your LED has red, black, and yellow wires, then I recommend running jump wires from a battery to test functions before installation. It is likely the red wire will be the stop, the black wire is running light, and the yellow is possibly the turn signal. It sounds like this is a 3 wire light that may ground through mounting hardware. Without seeing the light, that is my initial thought since the wire colors are not standard.
When you test functions on each wire, then you will know what wire is compatible with that function. When you have different color wires, you have to go by function instead of simply color matching. I've attached a trailer wiring diagram to assist with the functions.
