Length of Integrated Cable Lock on the Thule Archway Trunk Mount Bike Rack
Question:
2011 Chevy Equinox......When using one bike it looks like I have to hang the bike on the outside of the rack to be able to use the lock...Is this the correct way to haul one bike without damaging the bike, car or rack?

The cable lock on the Archway, # TH9009XT, is indeed only long enough to reach around the nearest bike to it (the outside bike). My Thule contact stated that if carrying just one bike on the rack and you wanted to lock it, using the furthest out position is permissible and deemed perfectly safe.
However, if you wanted to you could use a separate cable lock, like # e98891, and leave the bike in the position closest to the vehicle.
I have included a link to a video review of the Archway for you. If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend using the bike adapter bar, # TH982XT, in order to carry the bikes so that they are level. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adapter works.
