Powering Interior Trailer Lights With AC Power
Question:
I have a 16’ enclosed trailer that has 4 LED ceiling mounted lights inside. They are powered by the 7 way plug. I want to be able to operate the lights when the trailer is in my shop without having to have the trailer 7 way plug hooked to my truck. Is there a way to hook the trailer 7 way plug to a 110 outlet using an inverter?

I do have a couple of solutions for you to power your trailer lights with AC power but I do not have a way to plug the whole 7-way into a wall outlet. However, there are two ways you can wire the lights to a trailer battery and successfully power them with AC power.
The first way is wiring the lights to a trailer battery that is wired to a converter part # PD9130LV. You can use part # 10-2-1 to wire the converter to the battery. The other side of the converter then wires to a 30 amp inlet on the trailer part # 277-000138. You'll need to cut the plug off of the wire thats coming from the converter. The power cord part # A10-3025ED90 plugs into the inlet to an adapter part # A10-1530HVP that fits into the 110 wall outlet. Wiring the inlet is a more permanent option but more convenient in the long run because you simply plug in the inlet to charge the trailer battery with AC power.
If you want a less permanent but easier to install option you can wire the lights to a trailer battery and charge it with a universal battery charger part # CTEK56353 with AC power from the 110 outlet. The CTEK charger does have to be attached to the trailer battery each time you want to charge it which can become inconvenient.
