Should Steering Wheel be Unlocked on 2000 Toyota RAV4 When Flat Towing With StowMaster Tow Bar

While using this to tow my 2000 rav4. Do I leave the steering wheel unlocked or locked.

I took a look at the owner's manual for a 2000 Toyota RAV4, and when you are using the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501 to tow the vehicle, your steering wheel should be unlocked. The manual states on page 181, "The steering lock mechanism is not strong enough to hold the front wheels straight."

I highly recommend contacting your local Toyota dealer for the exact procedure required to flat tow this vehicle as the owner's manual does not outright state what the procedure should be.
