Easy to Install Trailer Hitch for 2011 Cougar 24.5 5th Wheel with 4 inch Square Bumper
Question:
Hi. I have a 2011 cougar 24.5 5th wheel. my question is, how do I get around my sewer tube bumper? The bracket that comes with hitch looks like only s 2x2 receiver 3. My in place bumper is 4.5inch below the frame. If I am looking at this right I will need to cut a notch in my bumper and new hitch would be up into inplace bumper approx. 1.5inch If I do this I dont think my sewer pipe will fit in the bumper. I could slide mounting brackets towards the front and miss the in place bumper then I would need some type of adapter to 2x2 opening 1.5inch below my bumper then need an extension out to be close to flush with and below my in place bumper. Do you have any suggestions on how to install so I do not have to cut my in place bumper?? Thank you,

Sounds like you have the standard 4 inch square bumper at the back of your 2011 Cougar that is getting used to store your sewer pipe. The easiest hitch solution actually will be to go with a hitch that installs on the bumper like the Curt # E-100. This easily installs over the bumper with the included hardware and has towing capacities of 3,500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lb tongue weight. I attached a picture that shows what the hitch looks like installed as well as review video. This won't interfere with your sewer storage and will give you a hitch opening that's much easier to access than one that would be recessed quite a bit behind the bumper.
