Are Resistors Needed to Install Roadmaster Hy-Power Diode Kit on 2019 Chevy Equinox Premier

In the video, the installer uses a resistor that is not in supplied in the kit, nor is it in the instructions provided. Is the resistor necessary?

I checked with Roadmaster and for the Premier model of your 2019 Chevy Equinox the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 will work perfectly without additional components like a resistor. The Premier option features LEDs inside the taillight housings that are directly compatible with the Diode Kit.
