Range of Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller

Question:

Can you tell me the range of the controller? I want to mount it to the rear of my 32 foot fifth wheel to brake a utility trailer I pull behind my fiver. THX

The Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180 that you referenced does not have an official range but they have told us that it has been successfully tested at up to 50 feet. This is still going to depend a bit on your phone's Bluetooth connection along with any barriers between it and the actual controller (trailer walls, cargo, etc) but it should work okay behind a 32 foot 5th wheel.

Also keep in mind that even if the controller loses connection with your phone it's still going to work perfectly to automatically send power back to the trailer brakes in proportion to your braking in the truck. In this case it just uses the most recent settings for its braking power. You simply would not be able to activate the manual override.
