The brake controller I recommend for your 2002 Ford F-250/F-350 is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 which is currently our most cost effective proportional brake controller. The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 will use the same plug you have installed now for your old Reese brake controller so it will be plug and play. This controller also has a lifetime warranty.
The proportional brake controller option will be far better than a timed-delay option. The main reason for this is because time-delayed brake controllers always send the same amount braking power to the trailer brakes. The proportional brake controllers will vary the braking power based on how quickly the tow vehicle is stopping, which produces a smoother braking action and less wear and tear on the braking assemblies making them last longer, thereby saving you money.
