What Circuit Powers Clearance Lights on Side of Trailer
Question:
I have a 2004 Carson 12foot trailer that I want to re-wire. It has a side light on each side near the front along with the tail lights. What wiring harness do you recommend for me to purchase to perform this project. I am somewhat of a novice on electrical wiring and this is my first attempt at this project. Thanks in advance.

While we don't have wiring harnesses specifically for wiring up trailers I can help you wire up the circuit you mentioned. The lights you mentioned are clearance lights and need to be ran off of the running light circuit of the trailer wiring. I attached a picture that shows how a trailer normally gets wired up as well.
To make wiring up the trailer a bit easier we have junction boxes like the # 38656 which you mount on the trailer. With these you basically run the wires from the trailer connector to the box and then from the box to the taillights. This allows for an easier way to organize the wiring. Check out the install video I attached for more info.
Now for the clearance lights you asked about it's really just a matter of running a wire from the post on the junction box for this circuit to the lights you mentioned.
