I own a 1995 Ford F150 4x4 which came equipped with the seven way plug for trailer hookup. What is involved in installing a trailer brake controller?

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 would work fine as a brake controller. Since your 1995 Ford F-150 came with a factory 7-Way, your truck is pre-wired for a brake controller, and wiring adapter like # 3035-P. There should actually be a port underneath the dash for you to plug a wiring adapter into the truck.
