For your 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # BWGNRK1016 you asked about will not be any different on a diesel engine than on a gasoline engine. The unit will attach in the same way to your truck frame which doesn't change between engines. This perfect fit gooseneck hitch will fit 6-1/2 foot beds as well as 8 foot beds.
You may want to add a 7-way to the bed of your truck for easy connection. I recommend the Mighty Cord 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 7' Long # A10-7007 and have attached a video to assist.
