Installing Trailer Brake Controller on 2018 Chevy Traverse
Question:
I have a prodigy P2, it was installed on 2012 Chevy traverse. I have purchased a 2018 Chevy traverse. Do I need a new wire harness or will the old one work? If not, what part do I need? Is it still plug and play?

The 2018 model Chevy Traverse is actually not equipped with a factory plug-in brake controller port, but all the necessary wires are already run under the dash. This means to install your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 you will need to splice its wiring directly to the Traverse's factory wiring.
Based on my research this factory wiring can be found inside the front driver side instrument panel, below the headlamp switch. There will be 4 blunt cut wires there for a brake controller. The blue wire will to the blue wire on the P2. The red/black or red/blue wire will go to the black wire on the P2. The white/blue wire will go to the red wire on the P2 and the black wire is for ground which will connect to the P2's white wire.
