How To Install A Brake Controller On A 2014 Volkswagen Toureg

I remember seeing a video to remove the cover of the driver lower panel but lost video and do not see any trailer wire harness especially no blue one. is it concealed somewhere? thanks

I have the video I think you are talking about linked here on a 2016 Volkswagen Touareg. The video link shows the Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller part # 90885. The Touareg does require a pigtail from the Volkswagen dealership to install a brake controller. The driver side left lower panel does need to be removed. Once you get the panel removed there will be a black plug with the wires attached to connect to the parts from the Volkswagen dealership.
You need 1 electrical connector housing from the dealership part # 1J0-972-782. You also need 2 yellow wires part # 000-979-228. I have attached a video that shows you step by step how to attach the yellow wires to the connector housing and butt connect them to the vehicle's wiring underneath the dash. I have also attached a help article on the installation as well.
