Height Dimensions of the Demco Glide Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box Part # DM8250018
Question:
what will be the height of the unit - from bottom of 5th wheel nose to hitch plate. My existing 1716 is around 12inch will this be the same?

The Demco Glide Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box part # DM8250018 will have very similar, if not the same dimensions as the Lippert 1716 that it will be replacing so you should not have to worry about losing any clearance. With that being said I went out to our warehouse and measured the above for you. The distance from the center of lowermost set of bolt holes to the skid plate is around 6-1/2" and 9" from the uppermost set of bolt holes. I am not entirely sure I understand where you are measuring from but all pin box measurements are taken from the mounting holes so that is where you will need to measure the pin box you have now in order to compare the two.
