Should Trailer Axles All have Same Capacity Leaf Springs
Question:
Hello, I am planning on adding a second axle to my trailer using an equalizer kit, the second axle has a different capacity leaf spring setup, one has five leafs and the other only four. Will this cause problems or I can mix them? Which will be the front one?. Thank you.

You really need to have all of the leaf springs on your trailer the same capacity. Using different capacity and dimension springs will the axles from being able to evenly distribute the weight between them like is needed. It's probably best if you start over with all new leaf springs on your trailer. To do that you'll need to get the axle capacity of your trailer and the lengths of your springs. With that you can check out the link I attached to this page that has all of the springs we carry where you'll be able to select from the filters the length and capacity you need.
