Parts Needed to Install Tekonsha PowerTrac Brake Controller on 2010 Toyota Tundra
Question:
Hello, I am looking to get a brake controller for my 2010 Tundra which has a tow/haul package. I am looking to purchase the Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Time Delayed - 39523. Do I need anything else to make this work?

Expert Reply:
If your 2010 Toyota Tundra is equipped with a factory 7-Way connector at the rear then you just need to add the Plug-In Adapter # 3040-P so that you can easily install the Tekonsha PowerTrac Brake Controller # 39523 that you referenced. One end of the adapter will plug into the brake controller itself and the other end plugs into the factory port behind the Tundra's dash.
I have attached an install video of a different brake controller on your Tundra just so you can see exactly where that factory plug is located.
If your Tundra instead just has a factory 4-Way then in addition to the above Plug-In Adapter you will need to install the Hopkins Adapter # 37185 to convert the 4-Way to a 7-Way.
