Battery Will Not Stay Charged on a Keystone Outback 335CG

Question:

We have a new Keystone Outback 335CG and take it out every month. Each time we are ready to hook up, the battery is dead and we have to charge it. We turn the internal power switch off so the only thing possibly using power is the BL 7m3 autoleveling system, which is also off. Any idea what is causing the battery to drain?

I do have some options for you to help ensure your trailer battery is fully charged when you are ready to hit the road but I unfortunately am not in the position to speculate as to what is causing your battery to drain. I recommend you reach out to the manufacturer (Keystone) or the dealer that you purchased the unit from on this. If possible, you could do a parasitic draw test to make sure nothing is still drawing power while the unit is powered off. The parasitic draw test is just simply checking for power at the fuses while everything is off. This could also be done for circuits not ran to the main fuse box like your jacks.

With that being said, the trailer battery will deplete itself over time unless there is some sort of maintenance charger on it even if you have everything tuned off. If you don't have a maintenance charger then I strongly recommend you obtain one as the battery will lose its longevity with continuous draining. For this, we have an AC powered options like the NOCO Genius UltraSafe Battery Charger part # 329-G15000 and solar options like the 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger part # PTW2997.
