Replacement Caster Wheel Jack for 2 Horse Slant Trailer
Question:
i almost feel like it would be a silly question to even ask, but i have never had to replace a jack on one, so i would feel better asking anyway! i just acquired a 2 horse slant load trailer, weighing 7000 pounds. it is steel. the jack needs to be replaced, because when you try to put it down, the wheel on the bottom bends at the joint or whatever. would this jack work for this trailer? Please and thanks for your help!!

Helpful Expert Reply:
If your horse trailer's jack has a caster wheel it is probably a bolt-on tongue jack like Bulldog # BD165412 or # BD165411 rather than a weld-on jack like # 3370091410H.
These two Bulldog jacks are both rated for 1200-lbs of trailer tongue weight (appropriate for your 7K trailer) and both have a steel wheel; the only difference is the amount of lift which is 16-inches with # BD165411 and 19-inches with # BD165412. Both use a 3-bolt mount as shown in the photo.
