Recommended 7-Way Wiring Harness for 2018 Dodge Durago GT for Brake Controller Without Splicing

Question:

I see this kit says that it is all plug and play- i see 2 blue wires. The directions arent very good on where the blue wires get attaches to. I really dont want to tap into any oem wires and would really like the option of the 7 pin for future use. Thanks

The less obtrusive option to avoid any splicing is to use the 4-way harness # 118617 and then use the # ETBC7L kit to hardwire the 12V power but leave the brake controller output wire and reverse wire disconnected. Then you can use the wireless Curt Echo # C51180. This will have you add circuit breakers for your 12V power wire and your brake controller power wire. It will require tapping into your brake light switch and your reverse light power as well.

The Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector # TK22113 does require connecting to factory wires. There is one connection that requires a butt connector and one that a quick splice is a better option for. I've highlighted these in the attached photos that even give you the color of wire needed. The 18 gauge wire will use the included quick splice connector.

Adding a 7-way to your vehicle will require splicing for the reverse light signal on any application if you want that reverse light feature with either option.
