Can Two of the Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track be Used for a Winch Mount in a Pickup Truck Bed

Question:

I see the track is rated for 1600lbs of working strength, if I have it installed with through bolts and nuts in the bed of my truck will it support a side pull along its length? I saw someone do this in a video online. The 1200 pound rated winch would be pulling a 500 pound garden tractor up curved ramps, which would spread the load to 250 pounds each track. Just because someone is doing it doesnt mean its safe, Id like to find out what the manufacturer recommends.

I reached out to my contact at Tow-Rax who confirmed that you can use the Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track # TWSP72TA to install a winch mounting bracket on. The tracks will hold up just fine but you will want to make sure that your mounting hardware can withstand the 500 lbs of weight you plan on pulling up with the winch and that it isn't just mounted to the bed's sheet metal but something more solid.

You will need to get creative with the hardware that you use for the winch mount though as the typical hardware is a tie-down anchor like part # TWSPDSTD225.
