The active ingredient in RV water fresheners such as Camco # CAM40206 is sodium hypochlorite. This chlorine compound will break down fairly quickly, especially if stored at higher than room temperature and its effectiveness will be reduced. It is best to purchase the smallest suitable amount and not retain it from year to year.
