Recommended Class U Tire Chains for 2011 Mercedes Sprinter Dually
Question:
I have a 2011Mercedes Sprinter 3500 with dual rear wheels. Mercedes recommends class U chains for all four rear wheels. Do you have a recommendation?

Using the part # PWE2219SC that you referenced would provide 1 pair of chains to cover two single tires. If you wanted chains on all four rear tires, part # PWE4219SC would be a better choice for dual wheels. You would need one set for each side.
Should you follow the advice of Mercedes and chain all four rear tires, or just two of them?
That will have to be up to your discretion. Having all four rear tires chained up will provide superior traction versus having chains on two tires. As a matter of policy, I cannot recommend anything that contradicts the vehicle manufacturer recommendations.
According to Pewag, both the PWE2219SC and the PWE4219SC meet Class U requirements, in that they will work with a minimum of 23 mm of clearance.
