Can Roadmaster 8700 InvisiBrake System Make Beeping Noise in Engine Compartment
Question:
Weve used this system for a year, no problems. Recently, we disconnected the car from the motorhome and drove it on a errand. On return of errand, we parked the car. Sometime later, we noticed a beeping was coming from under the hood of the car. We opened the hood, beeping was on passenger side of car, but could not locate exact origin of sound. Also, we noticed that parking lights were on, then went off. We reconnected car to motorhome, tested that lights, brakes and everything worked and we had no beeping. We disconnected car again and no beeping. Car was not used overnight, but later the next day, same beeping sound occurred. We drove car again, no beeping sound We are travelling, so cant take motorhome and car back to installers. We did take the car to the Ford service department, and they stated that there is nothing that would cause the engine to beep like that. Also, if there was a problem, we would get a message on the dash - which we havent seen. Has there been anyone with a similar problem?

The only 2 things the Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700 has that makes an audible noise is the air compressor and the motorhome monitor that lets you know if the brakes have been activated too long. I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster who confirmed that nothing with their system makes a beeping sound.
Since this is the case the Ford service department you went to either doesn't know much about the vehicle or they were just trying to move on to the next customer. I would take your vehicle in for a second opinion somewhere that you trust.
