To install the Pilot Brake Controller, part # 80550, on your 2010 Toyota Tacoma with a factory 7-Way connector you will need the Tekonsha Wiring Adapter, part # 3040-P. Just cut off the black connector and splice the wires together color for color.
With the adapter connected to your brake controller you will now just plug in the other end of the adapter to your factory brake controller port located underneath and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. There will be a 5-pin connector that mates with the one on the adapter.
That is all that you will need to be able to stop your trailer with the Pilot brake controller.
