Rotating Pin Box Rated for 17,000 Lbs To Replace Lippert 1621HD

Question:

Hello, I am looking for a solution to my clearance problem on my new fifth wheel. I have an 8 ft bed, however it has a 27 inch sleeper on it. added seating for my large family The fifth wheel toy hauler I want to purchase has a loaded weight of 17k. However, I got the model # on the pin box and contacted the Sidewinder company and their larger weight option 20k will not work with my model pin box. I also looked into the Lippert turning point, but it also has a weight of 17k. Is there an alternative on the market that will get me the clearance I need? Im not sure if a slider hitch will give me enough clearance. So I am really hoping to find a sidewinder type of option that will work with my pin box and weight. My model # is: LIPP 1621 HD

The Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret part # RP34FR for 20,000 lbs or part # RP61422 for 16,000 lbs are both designed to replace the same pin box, one of which is a Lippert 1621HD so I do not understand why it would not work for you. I spoke with Reese myself which is the same company that makes the Sidewinder and they made no mention of any issues with using the Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret part # RP34FR for 20,000 lbs to replace a Lippert 1621HD pin box.

If there is some reason that I am not aware of where you cannot use the above then we unfortunately would not really have any other options. The most turning clearance we can off you is an additional 22" via the Sidewinder. The sliding 5th wheel hitches we offer in the capacity you need only offer an additional 12", at most.
