Parts Needed To Carry Kayak w/ Thule Hull-A-Port on 2010 Subaru Forester

Question:

I want to be sure before I purchase the Thule products that I have the right products. I have the factory installed bars on my Forester that go from front to back. I was given the Hull A Port as a Christmas gift. Im looking to carry two kayaks on my vehicle. What products do I need? Is it the 450R Crossroad Railing Roof Foot Pack and the Aeroblade Roof Rack Bars. The Thule Website has confused me. Thank you

If your 2010 Subaru Forester only has the rails that run front to back, you will need to install a set of crossbars. I would recommend the Thule SquareBars # TH712200. To attach the crossbars to your roof, you will need to use the Thule Evo raised rail feet # TH710401.

The item you selected, Thule Hull-A-Port Pro Kayak Carrier # TH834 is compatible with the Thule SquareBars and will fit your 2010 Subaru Forester.

You will want to check the roof load carrying capacity of your vehicle as stated in the vehicle owners manual, as you will not want to exceed it. The load capacity of the Thule bars is 165 lbs. The weight of the kayak carrier, plus the weight of the kayak(s) will contribute to overall weight capacity. Please note that the Thule Hull-A-Port has a capacity of 1 kayak.

With 47 inches of crossbar, 2 Hull-A-Port kayak carriers would mount from the information I found, as long as you stay within the roof load carrying capacity of your 2010 Subaru Forester.

I have linked a video review and instructions for the Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier # TH834.
