Parts Needed to Convert a 1-1/4 Inch Receiver to a 2 Inch Receiver on a 2010 Polaris Sportsman 500

The Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, # D210, is designed to fit in a 2 inch receiver and then provide a ball mount and a separate 2 inch receiver that can be used together. If your Polaris Sportsman has a 2 inch receiver, you can use the ball mount.
Many ATV/UTVs have a smaller receiver opening like a 1-1/4 inch or smaller in some cases. If you have a 1-1/4 inch receiver and need to go up to a 2 inch, you would need an adapter like # HTAD. However, when you use an adapter like this, the tongue weight capacity of the hitch is reduced by 50 percent.
For example, if the hitch had a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds, adding the adapter would lower that capacity to 100 pounds. Make sure you stay within the limits of the lower capacity when using the adapter. I have included a link to a video review of the adapter for you.
If you have a receiver smaller than 1-1/4 inches, there are no adapters available.
