Brake Controller Wiring for Lexus RX350

Question:

My 2008 Lexus RX350 3500 lb. towing capacity is currently wired with the manufacturers’ plug and play 4-pin flat accompanied by an adaptor to my 2000 lb. 7-pin pop-up camper. I want to install a brake controller in order to upgrade to a 3000 lb. camper. Is there a way to somehow add a fifth wire to the plug-and-play for the brake controller? Or, do you know of another way to get at least 5 wires from my Lexus RX350 to a 7-pin camper?

I have the perfect solution for you to easily add a brake controller to your 2008 Lexus RX 350 without running a bunch of wires.

If you install the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L then all you need to do is connect the adapter to your current 4-Way and then route the black wire to your battery through the included circuit breaker. This then gives you the lighting functions and 12V power on your 7-Way.

Once this is installed the brake controller you will use is the Curt Echo # C51180. This only requires the 12V power pin to operate so you simply need to plug it in to your 7-Way. The Echo then communicates with your Apple (8.0 or newer OS) or Android (4.4 and newer OS) smart device via bluetooth and the app to make adjusting your braking settings very easy and user-friendly.

Attached are review videos of both the wiring and the Echo brake controller for you to check out. If you prefer more of a standard brake controller I can make a recommendation but that requires running more wires from the front to the back of your RX 350.
