Will Demco Recon Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Hitch Work on 2011 Ram Short Bed with B&W Gooseneck

Hello and thanks for taking my question. I have a 2011 Ram 3500 DRW Mega Cab. I bought it with a BandW Gooseneck hitch installed. Its the standard gooseneck ball and not a hiding style. My bed is 6foot 4inch in length. Will you adapter work with this configuration? I hope to hear a positive answer so I can pull the trigger on a 5er I have my eyes on. Thanks for your consideration.

Yes, the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550045 referenced in your question is compatible with and will attach to the existing B&W Gooseneck hitch ball on your 2011 Ram 3500.

While this hitch will work for your setup, it's not going to be your best option since its 3 inch offset won't be enough to allow you to make sharper turns without cab interference on your short bed Ram. If you do in fact have a B&W gooseneck hitch on the truck, then I instead recommend the B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3400.

You should be able to remove the gooseneck ball on your existing hitch to expose the square socket/opening (if you cannot please let me know). The Companion is designed specifically to mount right to this opening to provide you with an excellent sliding hitch that features a 20,000 pound towing capacity. Its 12 inch front to back travel will allow you to make sharp turns without the trailer hitting the cab and its 1 inch thick dual jaws provide an incredibly secure connection with the trailer for a smooth and quiet ride.
