If you have a 7-Way and junction box setup on your the trailer your easiest route will be to just replace the junction box with something like the Epicord 7-Way # 277-000141. This harness features a 7-Way molded plug and pre-wired junction box with terminals so that you can simply make connections to what remains of your trailer wiring after removing the connector.
I have attached an installation video so you can see exactly how everything hooks up. The wire color/functions for the harness are as follows:
White - Ground
Black - 12V
Yellow - Reverse/Aux
Red - Left Turn/Stop Light
Brown - Right Turn/Stop Light
Green - Running Lights
Blue - Brake Output
To replace your breakaway switch I recommend the Hopkins Engager # 20099 that includes a built-in charger and push-to-test battery. I have included a video review and the written installation instructions that you can take a look at as well.
