The Echo is a proportional controller that has an internal sensor to determine your deceleration and then it automatically captures the brake lights so it delivers braking to your trailer that is in the same proportion.

After pairing the Bluetooth connection with your device this becomes a simple brake controller you simply plug into your 7-way and then plug your trailer wiring into it.
