Trailer Brake Controller Installation for 2014 Ford F-150 with 4-Pole Wiring
Question:
Im pulling a trailer from FL to MI. This is a 2 axle electric system. Leaving Wed 4-17-19. Is there a plug in under the dash to connect the P3? I only have a standard factory break light and turn connector. Do I have to rewire a harness from the dash to the rear bumper? The trailer has existing wiring. Ill have to get another connector. What else should I be aware of?

If your 2014 F-150 currently has just 4-pole wiring for lights only you can't do just a plug-in for connecting a wired trailer brake controller, but you can still install one very easily.
If you want the simplest and fastest type of installation go with the Curt Echo # C51180 and the 4-pole to 7-way wiring upgrade kit # ETBC7L. As long as you have a smartphone, which will serve as both display and controller, you can install the Echo quickly and with very minimal wiring.
The kit # ETBC7L simply plugs in to your existing 4-pole wiring and you will make ONE single wire connection between the included 7-way and the truck's battery. This provides 12V operating power for the Echo and no other wires need to be run. The kit has everything you need to install the 7-way. Then simply plug the Echo into that 7-way, connect the trailer plug into the Echo and pair it to your smartphone and you're done. That's it. Please check out the two videos I linked.
If you would rather hardwire a controller like the excellent Prodigy P3 # 90195 you can do so using similar install kit # ETBC7 and the wiring adapter # 22292 which will plug in under the dash. A video for this option is linked as well.
With your short timeline I definitely recommend the Echo.
