Should Bearing Buddy System Replace Sure Lube Hub Setup on Trailer
Question:
I have a 2007 tidewater trailer with reliable sure lube axles. It is new to me so I am replacing everything down to the spindle, it was in salt water and will continue to be. I was unaware that it had the sure lube system until I got to the seal sleeves holes through sleeve exiting the back of the spindle. The previous owner did not have sure lube grease caps on it. I have bearing buddies ready to go on it but now I am thinking, I should be using sure lube caps. Can you use bearing buddies with sure lube system or only the sure lube caps which i am not finding on your site. The other option is to not drill the new sleeves for the sure lube holes and just use the bearing buddies as intended. I like the idea of the sure lube system but want to do it right. Can you give me a recommendation of which way is best?

By Sure Lube you mean like an EZ Lube setup that has zerk fittings on the ends of the spindles to grease through the middle of the hub? That's what I was able to find when Googling your setup. If so, you can install a Bearing Buddy over this style of hub but it's typically better to stick with the EZ Lube setup as it applies grease in a way that's easier to reach the bearings.
If you can get me the diameter of your hub where the grease cap fits I can get you a cap with a removable center section so you can apply grease as needed.
