Trouble Mounting Roadmaster Tow Defender # RM-4700 to Falcon 2 Tow Bar

Question:

Hi, I bought a 4700 Defender for a Falcon 2 towbar. The quick disconnect brackets do not seem to fit anywhere. Is the 4800-30 bolt kit the solution for the Falcon 2 towbar? The issue is that the holes in the quick disconnect brackets that came with my 4700 Defender are large enough to slip over the existing allen head bolts on the end of the arms on the Falcon 2. So Im asking if the bolts in the 4800-30 kit have a larger head to capture the hole size 3/4 on the quick disconnect bracket for the 4700 Defender. Thanks!

The Collar Attachment Hardware Kit # RM-4800-30 referenced in your question is simply the replacement hardware for your existing Roadmaster Tow Defender # RM-4700 so I don't think this is what you're needing.

It sounds like you might be trying to attach the brackets for the Tow Defender to the wrong bolt heads on the tow bar/base plates. The bracket should be mounted to the bolt on each side of the crossbar for your Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 and not to the allen bolt heads that are at the ends of the arms. I have zoomed in on your Falcon 2 to highlight where the brackets are designed to attach.

Now if you happen to have the EZ5 or MX Series Roadmaster Base Plates on your towed vehicle (which eliminate the need for this piece) then you actually need to go with the Tow Defender # RM-4750 as the model you currently have is not compatible with these particular base plates.
