Testing Wires of 2004 Dodge Ram for Wiring In Brake Controller
Question:
2004 Dodge Ram 2500. The wires on my brake plug are...black- white - green- white with red strip. The plug on the end I’m trying to hook up are....black- white- blue- red. Can you tell me which is the correct wires to hook up to the wire system on the truck. I have a Curt Venturer brake control box

We don't have the exact color functions for your brake controller wiring but we can help you determine that as long as you have a circuit tester like the part # PTW2993. You'd need to test the wires and the one with voltage all the time goes to the black wire of your brake controller. The one with voltage only when the brake pedal goes to the red wire.
Ground the tester to the constant 12-volt power wire, then probe the remaining two wires. The wire that lights the tester will be the ground, the other will be the brake output circuit.
