Platform Hitch Bike Rack for Easy Loading of Electric Bikes

Question:

Hi! Im interested - however, video does not show how to load on and remove an E-byke - its too heavy for me to lift it above a few inches off the ground. Additionally, I feel a bit nervous thinking that my $ 3,500 byke depends on the mechanical integrity of this gooseneck shaped piece of steel not to mention could be the source of catastrophic incidents - which will be submitted to torque, vibrations repeatedly - do you have any words of comfort for me? Thanks, Pierre

The Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4412B-FB is a quality 2-bike carrier and it can handle bikes up to 60-lbs, which will be enough for many electric bikes.

But there is an e-bike rack that I like even more, the Thule Easy Fold # TH903202. This is absolutely a premium product and it is priced accordingly. But the EasyFold's comprehensive features provide so many benefits to the owner that I hope you will consider it.

What really makes the EasyFold special is that it includes a built-in loading ramp so you never have to lift your bike. The ramp stores right on the rack.

It also handles bikes up to 65-lbs each and it fits both 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches. It tilts for vehicle access, it folds up to a compact size and it even has built-in wheels for easy handling (please see the photo I linked). It also uses adjustable clamps to secure the bike either at the frame tube or at the seat post, whichever you prefer. And it includes locks.

All in all it is a class-leading product that may well be the last bike rack you ever need. Please refer to the linked videos to see it in use.
