Can Derale Transmission Cooler Replace Factory Transmission Cooler
Question:
Is it safe to bypass factory radiator transmission cooler and install one of your units? Pros and cons? I would like to bypass factory but concerned if enough cooling as a stand alone. Also I live in San Diego so temps don’t get too cold and is mild all year long. Thank you for your help.

It's pretty common that people will bypass their factory transmission cooler altogether with an aftermarket transmission cooler. Ideally you run both to maximize cooling power but sometimes the factory cooler is damaged and it's just easier to bypass it. We recommend going with as big of a cooler you can fit like the Derale # D13504 which measures 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep and is the very efficient plate-fin style of cooler.
