Why Does the Front Mount EcoHitch Require Removal of Front Bumper During Install on 2019 Ford F-250

Question:

Since there are no pictures of this front hitch, Im curious of what is different in the mounting of this hitch that requires the front bumper to be removed temporarily. The two other front hitch options for 2019 F250 do not state that the bumper needs to be removed. Im interested in the Ecohitch because of the 1,000 lbs capacity but I am concerned about having to remove the bumper to install.

Great question!

The EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7904 that you referenced actually installs right behind where the license plate sits (see attached photos). This differs from the Draw-Tite # 65076 and the Curt # C31078 because they sit closer to the bottom of the bumper and require that the air deflector/fascia either be modified or removed.

So the EcoHitch does require more of an intricate installation but it also leaves your 2019 Ford F-250 with a great OEM look.
