Would Loose Coupler Bolt Cause Coupler to Disconnect from Hitch Ball
Question:
Me and dad not in agreement. Hooked up trailer perfect pinned copper It jumped off ball after loading. In repair I found coupler bolt on last thread with a lot of play in all system .could this have caused it to jump off ball. I locked it down and pinned it

Even if the coupler was barely attached to the trailer the latch system would still hold the hitch ball assuming everything is working properly. The reason your hitch ball became separated from the coupler is due to the latch and not the loose coupler bolt. It's' definitely time for a new coupler!
