How to Test Wiring of Vehicle to Find Correct Circuit for Brake Controller Install
Question:
I am trying to wire a Tekonsha brake controller onto a 2014 Mercedes sprinter and I cant find the brake signal wire. In the video I watched your tech used a pink wire with a green stripe but mine does not have that. What should I see for voltage readings on a multimeter for the correct wire?

Expert Reply:
Using a circuit tester like the part # PTW2993 you need to test the wiring till you find a circuit that only has 12 volt when the brakes are applied. This will be the correct wire to use for the red wire of the brake controller install.
