Does Integrated Brake Controller of 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 Require Adapter to Use Dexter EOH Actuator
Question:
I have a 2015 GMC 3500 with a factory integrated trailer brake controller. I also have a Dexter Model E/H 1600 electric over hydraulic controller for my disc brakes on my 5th wheel. The disc brakes are an upgrade I added because I was not happy with the performance of the original drum brakes. The disc brakes are an improvement but not the significant improvement I was expecting. First, do you recommend that I use the DX35FR adapter?

Expert Reply:
The integrated brake controller of your 2015 GMC Sierra does require the adapter part # DX35FR you mentioned when used with a Dexter Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator like part # K71-651. This will help your controller better recognize the brakes and operate them better as well.
