Can Kenda 205/65-10 Trailer Tire be Run at Different PSI Than What is on the Sidewall

Question:

I have a Sno Pro trailer. Mainly use it for quads in the spring/summer/fall. Use once in a while for the snowmobiles. What is the minimum tire pressure that is safe to use with lighter loads. 2 Quads combined are in the 5 to 600 pound range. 90psi is a very high tire pressure as to what I have been exposed to with any vehicle tire. I see that 90psi is recommended but want to know what lesser tire pressures are allowed.

Helpful Expert Reply:

Vehicle tires can have different psi ratings for the same tire depending on where they are located (front to back typically differs) but when it comes to trailer tires, like the Kenda # AM3H480 you referenced, is it always recommended to keep the psi at what is stated on the sidewall. This is because the tire manufacturers have tested the tires to work best when at this psi. If you were to put more or less pressure in the tire then that would not only affect the weight rating but also the speed rating. Anything else than 90 psi for this tire and those factors would be unknown.
