The Hickory Springs Steps part # 98224EXTALC1 that you referenced are designed to fit standard RV step mounting areas like what you most likely have on your 2016 Airstream. If your current steps are 27-1/2 inches wide overall these will fit right in.

Otherwise you can use the # LC301704 to install new brackets that will fit with the step. Or you could weld them directly to the frame.
