I spoke with Husky about the Husky Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler part # HT87076 and they stated that they do not test for a maximum tongue weight capacity on this coupler. That will be the case for most of our straight tongue trailer couplers because so long as you do not exceed the maximum trailer weight capacity of the coupler then you will be covered. With that being said, the trailer should never have more than 15% of its overall weight placed on the tongue. Therefore it can be safely assumed that the maximum tongue weight capacity for the Husky Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler cannot exceed 900 lbs.
